How to make a tycoon dropper in Roblox
Every tycoon starts with a dropper: blocks fall on a conveyor, roll into a collector and turn into cash. The plugin builds the machine, the cash stat and upgrade buttons that unlock more of your base.
The tycoon dropper prompt
Select the object in Studio first (or mention it with @), then send this. Change any words you like before sending.
Then keep talking to it
- 2Add a claim pad so each player gets their own tycoon.
- 3Add an upgrade that doubles drop speed.
- 4Make the conveyor faster.
What the AI builds
- A Tycoon model with a dropper, conveyor and collector
- leaderstats.Cash
- Upgrade pads with price and unlock attributes
How it works
The dropper spawns small ore parts at its spout on a timer. Each ore carries a value and cleans itself up after a while.
The conveyor moves parts with its surface velocity, and the collector turns touching ore into cash for the tycoon's owner.
Upgrade pads check the price on the server, subtract it and reveal the parts they unlock.
How to make a tycoon dropper in Roblox, step by step
- 1
Send the prompt
The AI builds a Tycoon model with three parts: a Dropper with a spout, a Conveyor and a Collector at the end. It also adds a Cash value to each player's leaderstats.
- 2
Watch the drops
Press Play. Every 2 seconds a small ore part with a Value attribute appears at the spout and falls onto the conveyor. Ore cleans itself up after 30 seconds if it gets stuck.
- 3
Collect cash
The conveyor carries ore into the collector. When ore touches it, its value goes to the owner's Cash and the ore is removed.
- 4
Claim a tycoon
Ask for a claim pad and each tycoon stores its owner's UserId when someone steps on it. One tycoon per player, and only the owner is paid.
- 5
Add upgrades
Upgrade pads carry a Price and the model they Unlock. When a player with enough Cash steps on one, the server subtracts the price and makes the unlocked parts visible and solid. Because the price check happens on the server, players cannot unlock anything they have not paid for.
Roblox tycoon dropper settings you can change
Change any of these by asking in plain words, or open the script and edit the value yourself. Each prompt is one undo step, so you can try a value and go back.
- DROP_INTERVAL
- 2 seconds in the default prompt. An upgrade can halve it.
- Ore Value
- How much cash each block is worth.
- Conveyor speed
- Set through the conveyor's velocity. "Make the conveyor faster" changes one number.
- Owner
- The UserId stored on the tycoon when a player claims it.
- Price and Unlocks
- Attributes on each upgrade pad.
Fixing tycoon dropper in Roblox
Ore stops on the conveyor
The conveyor needs to keep its velocity every frame. Ask the AI to check the conveyor script.
Cash does not go up
Only the owner is paid. If nobody has claimed the tycoon, ore is collected but no one gets cash. Claim it first or ask for single-player mode.
Too many parts pile up
Ore removes itself after 30 seconds. Lower that time or slow the dropper if the conveyor gets crowded.
Cash resets when I leave
Saving needs DataStoreService and a published game. Ask the AI to add it after publishing.
The upgrade pad takes my cash but nothing appears
The pad reveals the model named in its Unlocks attribute. If that model was renamed or moved, nothing is found. Ask the AI to check the upgrade pads and the models they unlock.
More tycoon dropper ideas to try
Once the basic version works, send one of these as your next prompt. Each builds on what is already in your place.
“Add a second dropper that unlocks for 100 cash.”
Places a hidden copy of the dropper and an upgrade pad that reveals and starts it.
“Make the ore worth more after an upgrade.”
Adds an upgrade pad that raises the Value given to each new ore.
“Add walls that unlock in order.”
Creates a row of upgrade pads, each revealing the next part of the base.
“Show cash with a big counter on screen.”
Adds a ScreenGui that reads Cash and formats large numbers.
Where it goes in Explorer
- Workspace / Tycoon (Model) / Dropper, Conveyor, Collector, and upgrade pads with Price and Unlocks attributes
- Players / each player / leaderstats / Cash (IntValue)
- ServerScriptService / Tycoon (Script) with DROP_INTERVAL at the top
Script names can differ a little; the AI names things to fit your game and tells you what it added.
Tips for a good prompt
Select the object first, or mention it with @, so the AI changes the right thing. Say what the player should see and feel, not how to script it: “the parts should fly a little and spin” works better than naming functions.
Ask for one change at a time and press Play in between. If something is off, describe what you saw, like “it only works once” or “the pieces go through the floor”. If a change goes the wrong way, press Ctrl+Z once and try different words.
Scripting it by hand vs. with AI
A dropper by hand means a spawn loop with cleanup, a conveyor, a collector that checks for a value, ownership, leaderstats and server-checked upgrade buttons. Tycoon tutorials often take a whole video. The plugin builds the working loop from one prompt and you add upgrades one sentence at a time.
Before you start
You need Roblox Studio on Windows or macOS and the free Roblox AI Game Maker plugin, connected to your account with an 8 character code. New accounts get 2 credits and a free model you can use every day. A typical prompt on a cheap model costs a few hundredths of a credit, and the AI play-tests and fixes errors as part of the same build. Write in any language; the AI answers in the same one.
Tycoon dropper FAQ
Can several players have tycoons at once?
Yes. Ask for claim pads; each tycoon stores its owner and only pays that player.
Can I keep cash after leaving?
Saving needs DataStoreService and a published game. Ask the AI to add it once your game is published.
How fast should a dropper be?
The default is one block every 2 seconds, which keeps the conveyor readable. Faster droppers usually come from upgrades so players feel progress.
Can I use my own dropper model?
Yes. Select your model and ask the AI to make it the dropper. It adds the spout attachment and wires it to the same script.
